Red-eye Delta flight: when does online check-in open?

Online check-in generally opens about 24 hours before the scheduled departure time, not “the day before.” For a flight just after midnight, that means check-in can open the previous evening or day, depending on the exact time.

Tips:

1. Check the exact departure date and time on your ticket, since a 12:30 AM flight is technically the next calendar day.
2. Use the Fly Delta app, which usually shows when check-in opens.
3. Set a reminder so you can pick seats early.

Don’t confuse the date, because it is a common cause of missed flights. This Delta Airlines check-in guide covers timing basics.
